New Rogue One Star Wars Details Revealed

New details on the upcoming Rogue One have been revealed and we’re breaking it all down for you right now! When it rains it pours and we’ve got a massive storm forming in the Star Wars universe. Despite a trailer and a few tidbits about this December’s Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, there is still a lot of mystery surrounding the saga’s first “Anthology Film” – that is until now. Before we get started though, there will be somewhat minor spoilers ahead so proceed at your own risk. Okay, so thanks to book catalog site Edelweiss, images for an upcoming Rogue One “Visual Story Guide” have made their way online. While now removed from the site, the pages reveal details about the film’s characters, new ships and even hint at the addition of one of the franchise’s biggest stars. Let’s start with the characters. We already know Felicity Jones will play “Jyn Erso” in the film and here she’s described as a “highly skilled soldier and warrior” who sets out to steal the Death Star plans. Joining her are Diego Luna’s “Captain Cassian Andor”, a Rebel Alliance officer, Jiang Wen as “Baze”, a freelance assassin, Riz Ahmed as “Bodhi”, a Rebel soldier, Donnie Yen’s “Chirrut”, a spiritual warrior, a pair of “fierce warrior” aliens named “Pao” and “Bistan” and Alan Tudyk as an Imperial Enforcer Droid named “K-250” who switches allegiances. On the Galactic Empire’s side we have Ben Mendelsohn’s mystery character revealed to be named “Director Krennic”. Krennic is described as the “Director of the Imperial Military” and is prepared to protect and preserve the Empire at any cost. He will be assisted by the standard Imperial Stormtroopers as well as the black-clad variety known as “Death Troopers”. It has long been rumored that Darth Vader will play a role in the film and while the Guide doesn’t confirm this, he is included in a pair of images, suggesting we will in fact see Darth Vader in the film. Along with details on the characters, the Guide also reveals new vehicles including the sleek looking “Tie Striker” and the intimidating “U-Wing”. The Guide also shares some details on the AT-AT walkers featured in the trailer and though not pictured, hints that we could see the AT-DP from Star Wars: Rebels included in the Empire’s vast firepower. The Rogue One Visual Story Guide is expected to arrive in time for the release of the film and while many of the elements are not final, it looks like we can expect the movie to have a nice blend of old and new elements.
