Sylvester Stalone won best supporting actor for his Role in Creed but when thanking those close to him in his speech he forgot to mention Creed star Michael B. Jordan or director Ryan Coogler and twitter went a blazing.
Acceptance speeches can alway be nerve racking to the point where you don’t say anything you planned to say but the internet is not going easy Sylvester Stallone.
After receiving a standing ovation from the audience, Stallone tried to hold back tears when thanking those close to him saying
"I'm gonna try not to get emotional, because I am the sum total of everyone I've ever met and I'm lucky to absorb some of it. I just want to say thank you to the Hollywood foreign press, this is incredible. I want to thank my wife and my children, Sophia, Scarlet and Sistine because actually having your love is the greatest reward in the world, every day."
If you were thinking “but wait what about the people that were involved in the film that got you like shiny globe for?” you weren’t the only one. Samuel L Jackson took to twitter to say,
#waitwaitwait, Ryan Coogler & Michael B Jordan, Thanks for acting with me!!! Loved Sly but...
also Ava Duvernay couldn’t keep silent she also stood up for the two by saying
Well. I'm gonna go ahead and thank RYAN COOGLER + MICHAEL B. JORDAN since no one else is. Thank you, brothers. Good work. #smh #goldenglobes
apparently during the commercial break Sylvester went back on stage to thank them but it looks like social media was too fast for the former athlete. I myself have never given an acceptance speech so I’m going to chop it up to he was nervous and they didnt give him a whole lot of time to say everything he wanted to but enough about what I think what did you guys think about his speech? Was it thoughtless that he didn’t thank Michael and Ryan or was it an honest mistake.
